U.S.-Iran Nuclear Talks in Oman Begin Amid Ultimatum

On Saturday, April 12, the United States and Iran are scheduled to hold nuclear talks in Oman. The U.S. has set an initial demand for Iran to dismantle its nuclear program entirely, though there are indications that the U.S. may be willing to compromise to reach an agreement. Iranian officials have warned their Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, that failure to engage in talks could lead to military strikes by the U.S. or Israel on nuclear sites such as Natanz and Fordow.

Judge Approves  Alien Registration Act

A federal judge has ruled in favor of the Trump administration, allowing the enforcement of the Alien Registration Act. This act requires all foreign nationals who have been in the United States for over 30 days to register with the federal government by today's deadline. Failure to comply with this registration is considered a crime, punishable by fines and imprisonment. U.S., Panama Sign Canal Security Agreement

The United States and Panama have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperative Security Activities, focusing on enhancing their partnership regarding security matters. A forthcoming joint declaration between the U.S. and Panama's Minister of Canal Affairs will establish a framework allowing U.S. warships and auxiliary ships priority passage through the Panama Canal at no cost. This agreement aims to strengthen security and operational collaboration between the two nations, emphasizing the canal's importance as a global trade route.

Fraudulent Unemployment Claims Uncovered 

An initial survey of Unemployment Insurance claims since 2020 revealed the following:

- 24.5k people over 115 years old claimed $59M in benefits

- 28k people between 1 and 5 years old claimed $254M in benefits 

 - 9.7k people with birth dates over 15 years in the future claimed $69M in benefits

In one case, someone with a birthday in 2154 claimed $41k.

It's time to squeeze Chinese to get them to comply.  China's Central Bank has instructed state-owned banks to reduce their purchases of U.S. dollars. This directive aims to manage the pace of the yuan's depreciation against the dollar to reduce damage from US tariffs.  China sold US Bonds to pressure rates to increase on US Treasuries.
