U.S. Military Targets Mexican Cartels

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has announced that the U.S. military is now authorized to conduct special operations against Mexican drug cartels following their designation as foreign terrorist organizations by President Trump. This policy shift allows for all options to be considered in addressing the cartels, focusing on enhancing homeland security and tackling issues like drug trafficking and violence at the U.S.-Mexico border. The decision reflects a significant change in U.S. policy towards the cartels, potentially escalating U.S. military involvement in Mexico.
